Why cuts have consequences
The Alliance for the CSU calls on Gov. Schwarzenegger to reverse his proposed $66.3 million cut to the California State University budget and to work with legislative leaders to restore the promise of educational opportunities for all of Californias citizens.
The CSU has already lost over $246 million from the 2008-2009 budget due to the states financial crisis, which resulted in over 10,000 students being turned away from CSU campuses from Humboldt to San Diego. These cuts come on top of the over half-billion dollars in funds the state cut from the CSU five years ago cuts from which the CSU has never recovered.
